ANDY CAO

Cao came to the US from his native Vietnam in 1979. After studying landscape architecture at California Polytech in Pomona, he began the Glass Garden in Los Angeles with the help of his business partner, Stephen Jerrom.

His first Glass Garden, a stylized Vietnamese landscape utilizing 45 tons of recycled glass, debuted in 1998. Since then, Andy has received two full fellowships to Pilchuck Glass School in Seattle.

He was the only American designer to participate in the 2001 famous garden festival at Chaumont-sur-Loire, in France, and in 2002 he was recipient of the prestigious Rome Prize Fellowship in Landscape Architecture.
